# Final art specifications

Created with the built-in image-generation tool, not the fallback API. The following are the final design specifications; generation was refined through the locally saved iterations.

## Character animation atlas

A production sprite atlas for a comedic fan mod of the first Secret of Monkey Island. A cartoon caricature of Dwayne The Rock Johnson as a wannabe pirate: large bald head, expressive raised eyebrow, exaggerated muscular shirtless torso, shoulder tattoo, black wrestling trunks, red pirate sash, black boots with gold buckles. Match the selected cartoon reference. Four columns: front, right, back, left. Four rows: idle, first walking phase, second walking phase, talking gesture. Exactly sixteen separate full-body sprites in equal cells. Consistent proportions, baseline, outfit, and lighting. Transparent background with genuine alpha, no ground shadows, captions, grid lines, or overlapping cells. Bold clean pixel-art forms that remain readable when reduced to 48 by 52 pixels.

## Title screen

Landscape pixel-art adventure-game title screen for “THE ROCK OF MONKEY ISLAND”. Moonlit Caribbean sea, pirate ship, palms, distant island silhouette and volcano. Large readable warm gold adventure lettering. Cartoon Rock at lower right, matching the chosen shirtless muscular big-head character, black trunks, red sash, wrestler-pirate boots. Exact title: “THE ROCK” / “OF” / “MONKEY ISLAND”. Tagline: “A HOLLYWOOD SUPERSTAR. A VERY SMALL ISLAND.” Strong contrast and readable at a 320 by 200 game framebuffer.

## Pixel revision 4 — exact candidate prompt

Output: `assets/pixel-candidates-v4.png`. Built-in image-generation tool, fresh generation.

> Create an authentic low-resolution pixel-art character design contact sheet for a 1990 point-and-click pirate adventure. FOUR candidate designs in a 2 by 2 arrangement. Each candidate is drawn on a strict 64x64 LOGICAL PIXEL canvas, the whole sheet is 128x128 logical pixels enlarged exactly 8x to 1024x1024. Every logical pixel is a flat square of one solid color. The character must occupy no more than 40 pixels wide by 50 pixels tall in its 64x64 cell, all feet on logical row 57. Background flat pure magenta #ff00ff for chroma key. No dividing lines, text or labels. Subject: recognizable Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson in an exaggerated funny pirate-wrestler costume, big bald head, raised eyebrow, shirtless muscular chest, red pirate sash, black wrestling trunks, black pirate boots, small dark shoulder tattoo. All four candidates face right in three-quarter adventure-game standing pose; vary the size of head and comedic proportions subtly. Match the deliberately chunky, sparse, carefully placed pixels of The Secret of Monkey Island EGA character sprites. Use only 12 flat colors total, including black outline, dark brown, tan and peach (ONLY three skin colors), two reds, two charcoal greys, muted gold, ivory eye, magenta background. Silhouette is stepped square blocks. Head roughly 13x15 logical pixels. Eye is ONE pixel. Eyebrow is THREE pixels. Hands about 4x5 pixels. One logical pixel outline. Large contiguous highlight and shadow clusters, very limited detail. Absolutely no gradients, painted texture, antialiasing, tiny high-resolution outlines, smooth curves, realistic anatomy shading, 3D rendering, texturing, or variable-size pixels. This is a screenshot of a tiny native pixel sprite enlarged with nearest-neighbor, NOT an illustration that has had a pixel filter applied.

## Pixel revision 5 — exact atlas prompt

Reference: `assets/pixel-candidates-v4.png`. Output: `assets/rock-atlas-v5-source.png`. Built-in image-generation tool, reference-guided edit.

> Use the BOTTOM RIGHT character in the reference as the single canonical character. Create his sprite animation atlas in exactly 4 columns and 4 rows, with every frame on a 64x64 logical pixel cell. Whole atlas 256x256 logical pixels enlarged exactly 5x to 1280x1280. All frames have the same large head, identical short thick proportions, skin colours, bald raised-eyebrow Dwayne The Rock Johnson face, bare chest, tattoo, red sash, black wrestling trunks with small gold emblem, chunky black pirate boots. Keep each sprite within 44x50 logical pixels, centered at cell x32, feet baseline y58; no per-frame scale changes. COLUMNS left to right: front facing viewer, profile facing RIGHT, back facing away, profile facing LEFT. ROWS top to bottom: standing still with arms down; walking contact pose left leg forward opposite arm; walking passing pose right leg forward opposite arm; standing talking with mouth open and one hand gesturing. This is 1990 point-and-click adventure animation, not a fighting game attack. Genuine coarse pixel art with uniform flat square pixels, one-logical-pixel outline, broad flat 2–3-color skin clusters and VERY SIMPLE details. Every logical pixel should be a solid 5x5 block. ONLY 12 opaque colours plus transparency. Strictly hard square silhouette, NO antialiasing, NO subpixel marks, NO smooth contours, NO realistic shading, NO small scattered texture, NO gradients, NO text, NO grid lines. Transparent background, generously separated frames, no shadows underneath. Preserve the comic huge head and broad silhouette from the bottom right reference, simplifying further if needed for a native 50-pixel-tall sprite.

The requested grid was not followed exactly. `PIXEL-ART.md` records the measured output and calibrated reconstruction. Final production pixels are `assets/rock-sprites-preview.png`, not the raw generated sheet.
